Conrad Black was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail |
His period on bail will end on 3 March when he must report to a federal prison in Florida.
The former owner of the Daily Telegraph was convicted of three counts of fraud and one of obstructing justice.
His lawyers had asked a Chicago court to allow him to remain free on a bond while judges consider an appeal against his conviction.
Black was convicted in July last year of stealing millions of dollars from shareholders of Hollinger International, the newspaper empire he once led.
The court cleared Conrad Black of eight further fraud counts and one charge of racketeering.
